Lockwood is not Strautmann Australia
Please be advised that Lockwood Farm Machinery is not the former Strautmann Australia Pty Ltd. This claim has been repeatedly made on the
www.lockwoodmachinery.com.au website:
Lockwood Machinery is now the new name for Strautmann Australia and...
Again in the About Us section it had stated:
Our History
"For many years the name of Strautmann Australia and Dennis Lockwood have been synonymous with ..."
"Dennis has been importing Strautmann components since 1992 and building them from the ground up in his Woodend Factory ..."
These are all false statements. Strautmann Australia Pty Ltd went into Administration on the 4/7/2008, wound up by court order on the 1/3/2011 and finally deregistered as a company on the 8/5/2011. These details can be confirmed through the ASIC website at the following link: ASIC search on Strautmann Australia ACN 063 474 751 or in a basic summary in the attached document:
The company STRAUTMANN AUSTRALIA PTY LTD (ACN 063 474 751) was renamed QRY PTY LTD on going into Administration. This company was formerly owned and managed by Mr Dennis Lockwood, operated as the Australian importer of Strautmann branded products imported from B. Strautmann & Söhne GmbH u. Co. KG refer to website www.strautmann.de. However, Lockwood also manufactured some products using the Strautmann brand name and logo. Strautmann Australia was an independent business and was using the Strautmann brand on manufactured products without the consent of Strautmann Germany.
In late 2008 the Strautmann Australia Pty Ltd went into administration after taking several large deposits for new machines to be imported from Strautmann Germany. These machines were never supplied by Strautmann Australia or the deposits refunded to customers or dealers. This created significant hardship for some loyal customers of Strautmann product, as well as dealers and local and overseas suppliers and creditors.
In August 2008, Inlon Pty Ltd was appointed the exclusive Australian distributor of Strautmann products from Germany. Inlon's reference can be found on the Strautmann website under the Australia link. The Inlon company website provides its history, company profile and an outline of its product lines. The Strautmann product is presented in detail on the www.strautmann.com.au website.
When the LockwoodMachinery.com.au website made the statement, "Dennis has been importing Strautmann components since 1992", this is clearly false. Although the business may have started in 1992 (actually 14/02/1994 according to ASIC), it certainly ended tragically for loyal customers, dealers and suppliers in 2008.
Spare Parts:
Further complicating matters for owners of machines, is that some Lockwood manufactured and Strautmann branded Feed Mixers and FVW feed out wagons (in particular) do not have Strautmann components and do not correspond to documented parts catalogues.
If requiring spare parts on machines purchased before 2008, please provide Inlon with a photograph of the Serial Number plate so that it can verify whether the machine is a genuine, manufactured by Strautmann Germany, machine or a Lockwood manufactured one.
Inlon has been successfully supplying and supporting the genuine Strautmann machines since the 2008 season and has a great stock of spare parts, information resources and parts catalogues to assist, as well as direct access to the parts and technical support in Strautmann Germany.
For genuine Strautmann spare parts contact Inlon on 02 4360 4000 or parts@inlon.com.au.
